Two 16-year-olds have been taken into custody after ramming a vehicle into a gun store and making off with multiple firearms in a dramatic late-night burglary.
The reckless crime unfolded in Fairfax County, Virginia, where surveillance footage captured the stolen car smashing through the storefront before the masked teens rushed inside, grabbing as many weapons as they could carry.
Authorities say the duo fled the scene but were quickly tracked down and arrested. Kevin Davis, chief of the Fairfax County Police Department, addressed the shocking incident in a press conference, stating:
“Something has gone terribly wrong in their lives for them to be committing such brazen, violent, vicious acts.”
The break-in is part of a worrying trend of young offenders engaging in increasingly dangerous crimes. Police are now investigating whether the suspects are linked to other firearm thefts in the area.
Meanwhile, residents have expressed growing concerns over youth crime, with many calling for stricter measures to prevent stolen weapons from hitting the streets.
The teens are currently facing multiple felony charges. Authorities have yet to reveal whether the stolen firearms have all been recovered.
